Levels of Care
Every resident has different needs, from requiring assistance in managing medications to help with daily living activities such as bathing or food preparation. It can be challenging to understand what exactly you or your loved one needs and match it to what a senior living facility offers. Our knowledgeable, friendly staff will help each resident achieve a level of independence that fosters a sense of engagement with life but provides a safe and secure setting as well.
At Oak Creek, we provide four different levels of care that gives the exact assistance that our residents require, but allows them to act independently in other aspects of their lives.
We will talk with you to determine the care level you need, which after assessment will be one of the following:
Level 1
- Oral medication management
- Vital sign and weight monitoring
- Three (3) meals per day
- Housekeeping services
Level 2
- All of Level 1, plus
- Laundry services
- Bathing assistance
- Oxygen therapy
Level 3
- All of Level 1 & 2, plus
- Incontinence/bathroom management
- Dressing assistance
- Hygiene assistance
- One-person assistance with transfer/standing
- Mobility assistance
Level 4

- Total care
- End-of-life care

Costs for Senior Residential Living
Understanding the financial impact of moving to a senior living facility is a priority for most residents. There are numerous questions that need to be answered, such as:
- How much does it cost for a room?
- What is included in my monthly fee?
- Will insurance or Medicaid be accepted?
Oak Creek makes it very easy to understand the costs involved. We follow an all-inclusive model, meaning that your fee covers all the basic costs of living at our beautiful residence. Furthermore, Oak Creek is one of the only residences in the Topeka, Kansas area who accepts Medicaid and HCBS (home and community based services) without pre-payment.
Our room fees are based on the type of apartment you select, and always include Level I care service. Each resident receives basic cable TV, utilities and mail service, among other included amenities.
Current rates vary individually depending on the needs of the resident—however, rates tend to run from $3000 for a shared room to $4985 for a private room with private full bath. Our rates are all inclusive of meals, medical care, dispensing of medications, diabetic management, housekeeping, cable, along with other amenities.
After we have an opportunity to visit, we can build a custom care plan for your loved one and provide exact pricing. Oak Creek Senior Living is also one of the few area facilities that will accept residents on a limited income and set up for HCBS (home and community-based services) which is provided under the Medicaid program.
When checking out a facility, make sure to ask if they accept HCBS in case your financial conditions change.
