A Message From Winona
“Caring for the elderly has been my passion since I started my nursing career in 1994. As Director, my approach to operations is one of fun and caring, while making sure that clear communication and follow-up exists with and between staff, residents and families. I love getting to know my residents and their loved ones, and can honestly say they become family to me.
Please call me directly, or email us, with any questions you may have.”

Shane and Lucy Horsch
Shane & Lucy were fortunate enough to discover Oak Creek and became the new owners on October 1st, 2017. They have a five-year-old son that on occasion can provide some excitement in the halls of Oak Creek as toddlers tend to do from time to time as well as a near retirement English setter named Rosie.
Lucy has worked in group care and assisted/skilled nursing settings in various facilities in the Wichita area and is presently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in nursing here in Topeka. Lucy’s passion for caring for the elderly gradually rubbed off on Shane who has a background in the real estate and insurance industries among various other jack of all trades pursuits. Lucy enjoys the challenge of being a student again, however certainly looks forward to achieving a lifelong goal of having her bachelors in nursing soon. She enjoys being a mom first and foremost and in what little free time she has you may catch her and the family casually exploring the backroads of Kansas or out in the garden. Shane’s free time pursuits usually consist of traveling to some remote part of Kansas in the fall with his hunting dog and a couple of friends in pursuit of upland game or in neighboring plains states. He’s an avid KC Royals and Nebraska Cornhusker fan and certainly hopes his son can share the same passion.
In our short time at Oak Creek, we’ve developed a deep appreciation for the staff and our residents and know that will only continue to grow as time goes on. When we looked at the business for the first time you could feel the positive upbeat energy here, and we’ve heard many guests make similar comments during their visits. If you see us in the halls please feel free to stop us and say hello!
